A hop, skip and an unexpected career jump has brought Jiin Kim-Inoue to her current role as Design Director for acclaimed London-based interior design company Finchatton. The Korea-native – who originally studied biochemistry and pharmaceuticals before embarking on her current career path – is a testament to the irrepressibility of a creative mind. Switching science experiments for creative ones, Jiin’s winning formula is one of luxurious finishes combined with sophisticated stylings and an inherent understanding of what luxury really means – absolute comfort. From “the six apartments of The Lansbury in Knightsbridge” to “an individual four bedroom apartment in Mayfair’s Mount Street” and “a private home in Eaton Square in Belgravia”, Jiin has been involved in many of the multifaceted company’s luxurious commissions and claims “each [project] is a highlight in my career”. She cites fellow LuxDeco Tastemaker Jean-Louis Deniot as her greatest influence and says her top design tip is to always have a sense of humour (sage advice for those projects which don’t always go as expected).
“Invest in the most comfortable bed you can afford and the most amazing chair,” Jiin advises – “you do spend most of your time either in bed or sitting in a chair, so make these your most important purchases.”

Living by a mantra of “be good to people” and inspired by life in general, Jiin affiliates herself with an Eastern design philosophy; her approach to interiors concerned with achieving a sense of tranquility and harmony in her designs.
