If you’ve been on instagram in the last few years, chances are, you’ve come across Camila Carril. Best known for her exquisite taste, enviable wardrobe and idyllic family life, the brazilian-born influencer’s new home has quickly become another string to her impeccably styled bow.

Before we took a look around, we asked her a few questions to asked the style-aficionado for her best interior advice and found out where she spends her free time.

Please describe your own interior aesthetic in 3 words

"Classic but contemporary"

What is one interior design trend you're loving right now?

"I love the juxtaposition of the wood panels in contrast with natural materials such as raffia, linen, cotton. It is so welcoming and adds some cosiness to any room."

What is your favourite piece in your home? Can you tell us why?

"Right now I am in love with a recent purchase for my dining room, it’s a beautiful painting by artist Peggy Kuiper. I have been following her for a while and her artwork really attracted me but the ones I had my eye on were already sold out until she contacted me about one of them that I loved and it would fit perfectly in my dining room. It’s a woman holding a swan. It’s a bit of a mixture, it feels bold, geometric and authentic. It's also in just the right colours that my white boiserie room needed."

Can you tell us your favourite restaurant recommendation that combines good interiors with great food?

"If you are feeling fancy I would say have a lunch at Twenty Two, a newbie restaurant and member's club that combines good interiors with great food. More casual but always a good choice is Soho House. Have a coffee at the courtyard “Native” in Brown’s and dinner at Isabel’s."

Who is your biggest interior design inspiration?

"Kelly Wearstler, I love her style… it never gets boring and it’s ever evolving. I love how she tells stories through people’s homes and likes to contrast different styles, she just gets it right."

What is your best piece of interior design advice?

"The small details count. Undress the space completely, work from the walls, to the ceiling, to the floors. What colour? What materials? What cornices or skirting? Once you’ve got the structure and the bones right go ahead and dress the space."
