With most of the world on lockdown, that doesn’t mean the design world stops spinning, as these luxury furniture brands go to show. Salone del Mobile or not, a selection of designer homeware labels have gone on to release new collections from behind closed doors.

The woman at the forefront of our creative buying team and responsible for bringing new names into the LuxDeco assortment, Jessica Harding, reveals who has caught her eye and which new brands she will be inviting to LuxDeco this summer, as well as additions to our own collection.

The name of this renowned LuxDeco 100 designer may not need any introduction, but his designs might since they’re brand new to LuxDeco this season. Introducing the LA designer’s lighting collection—created in collaboration with US lighting brand Corbett—which blends his love of bold simplicity with unabashed decoration.

Of the collection, the designer explains, “I believe lighting is the main ingredient to a successful interior. My collection for Corbett encapsulates my love for drama and fantasy with both formal and informal style concepts.”

In the Melrose and Everley pendants, you’ll find minimalist designs which focus on line and form; in his Magic Garden collection, you’ll find unique industrially-rendered blooms; and in Milan, you’ll find pieces engulfed by a flurry of Murano glass butterflies—very characteristic of the designer’s more decorative work.

When seeking out who to turn to for an injection of modern rugs and mirrors into the LuxDeco collection, our team turned to Christopher Guy whose pieces have an enduring kind of elegance while also feeling very ‘of the now’. His creations have a Hollywood quality having been included on the silver screen time and time again (including on multiple Bond films) and commissioned in prestigious, luxury hotel complexes, such as London’s Claridge’s and the Four Seasons.

I’d best describe the brand’s rugs and mirrors as clean and crisp in aesthetic, but there’s a definite sense of deep imagination and artistry that you see especially in many of its woollen abstract rugs or the refreshing simplicity of the subtle marl in his mohair plain rugs.

Some have the dreamiest of names too, like Misted Morning and Mediterranean Sand that transport your mind to the same place the brand’s eponymous founder must have been in during creation mode—quite possibly somewhere along the French Riviera where he grew up in the 1970s. Indeed France is a location from which he draws much inspiration, describing its design as having ‘an effortless form that is beyond beauty’.

Giorgio Furniture | Luxury Italian Furniture | LuxDeco.com

Giorgio Collection

There’s no denying that Giorgio is the preeminent authority on Art Deco furniture today. Each of its furniture pieces is a design homage to the great style—unapologetically bold, drawing from the iconic early twentieth century look and infusing it with a modern spin. In true Art Deco fashion, designs are crafted using fine materials and finished to perfection resulting in a signature high-gloss polish.

The brand specialises in unified collections which offer a bold look when used together (and, indeed, when apart). Its aesthetic honours the past whilst being updated with modern functionalities—a testament to the brand’s skill to combine tradition with modernity. Featured are beds with commanding proportions, dining tables with soft-close pull-out extensions, cabinets subtly enhanced with a contrasting chrome trim and, of course, bookmatched ebony macassar curved bars (hey, it’s the Roaring 20s after all).

Founded in 1956, it represents the quintessential Italian furniture brand—family-owned, hailing from Brianza (the country’s furniture manufacturing capital) and showcasing an unabated commitment to quality and traditional craftsmanship.

Linley | Luxury British Decor | Shop now at LuxDeco.com

Linley

One of the most well-known fine furniture brands, Linley is somewhat of a British furniture institution that was almost immediately made famous for its dextrous and detailed cabinet-making.

Today, it counts members of the royal family as collectors of its pieces (with founder David Linley descending from royalty, what less could you expect?). It also designs for residences of all descriptions from commercial to residential and from overseas to on sea itself (Linley was commissioned to design a large-scale marquetry panel for the Grand Lobby on the new Queen Elizabeth) since opening the interior design arm to its business in 2007.

As accompaniments to the Linley furniture collection, the brand has since putting its nimble hand to crafting of its own line of home accessories and objets ideal for gifting, including hand-stitched leather coin and cufflink trays, Cumbrian crystal with flawless clarity, photo frames carved from treasured timbers such as sycamore and walnut burr, and many a collectible more.

LuxDeco Summer Collection | Luxury British Furniture | Decorus Furniture | LuxDeco.com

Decorus

Furniture, lighting and decorative accessories are all part of the offering by Decorus, but it’s in the furniture collection for which followers of the brand have been most excited recently thanks to a number of new arrivals.

There are glamorous gold-fronted media cabinets cut from maple, a woven leather upholstered bench with satin brass legwork, a shagreen console table that could equally take the form of a dressing table with honed cream marfil marble feet, and a side table hand-forged from liquid bronze (available upon request)—to name but a few of its latest additions.

Another furniture maker that flies the British flag, Decorus’ latest pieces embody the same Art Deco meets contemporary style as the rest of its luxurious collection. A young company it may be, but that hasn’t stopped its reputation for producing sleek, angular pieces from spreading around the world of interiors like wildfire.

Lastly, the new Spring Summer 2020 collection of our own range which makes the case for the serene, reassuring and deceptively intricate beauty of neutral interiors. The key is texture. Texture marks the easiest route to achieving a layered and welcoming neutral space which, just by nature, is also entirely timeless. For Spring Summer 2020, key textures include ceramics, antique brass and shagreen finishes which all feature in abundance.

Equal parts refined and earthy (especially when crafted into captivating organic shapes), ceramic decor is an eternal decor must-have, its milky hues bearing the attitude of minimalism; the metal du jour—antique brass—still bears sway in Spring/Summer 2020 being used everywhere from drawers pulls to elegant platters; and shagreen (or faux shagreen to be clear), with its signature dappled finish results in classic furniture designs with just a touch more sophistication.

This season’s additions channel transitional style which is positively celestial.
