If there’s one thing that will snap anyone out of the lulliest of lockdown lulls, it’s bound to be the visual stylings of fashion designer and pattern maniac Mary Katrantzou. A quick glimpse of her Sunray Pink Rug for The Rug Company—all glorious hand-knotted Tibetan wool and silk—and, instantly, a desire for playfulness (something which has been sorely lacking for the last 12 months) kicks in. And, when paired with Liang & Eimil’s Pillaton I Vase, I gladly get the sense that I’ve entered into some sort of kaleidoscopic world far, far away from the C-word.
This Week's Most Wanted
Fashion, form and fun—what else? My favourite picks this week.
The much-needed ebullience can be paired with natural textures and tones to dress things down just a little. Think the rattan and wicker combo of Arteriors’ Volta Mirror or the same brand’s dichotomous rope and terracotta Clyde Centerpiece. In fact, not or—and! Because why not? And for a textural furniture favourite, the Grimaldi Armchair, with its notable Scandinavian aesthetic, cuts a fine figure accessorised with Villa Nova’s Chalk Elole Cushion.
Then for some “me” (because my lockdown rebrand wasn’t a complete style 180), the Bottle Green Premium Alpaca Throw by Simple Things and Kelly Wearstler’s alabaster Evoke Large Table Lamp for Visual Comfort are an eternal chef’s kiss colour pairing.
